MADE-TO-ORDER GUIDE

Made-to-order suits and the personalised tailoring process

A made-to-order suit is an option if ready sizes do not fit, or you want a suitable garment for work, weddings or events. Consult METİNALİ remotely or visit any of our Istanbul stores for measuring.

Made-to-order suits and other product options

At METİNALİ, you can request made-to-order suits, trousers, jackets, shoes, belts and wedding suits. Each requires different measurements and production steps. Jacket fit details, for example, do not apply in the same way to shoes or belts.

Share a product link or code if you have a design in mind. Explain whether you want changes to size, length, cut, colour or intended use. Being in the ready collection does not guarantee every alteration is possible; suitability is assessed during consultation.

Start by email or in store.

Discuss your request remotely by email or at any of our stores, where measuring is available. For remote consultations, we agree which details and measurements your chosen product requires and how to share them.

Mention the date in your first message if preparing for a wedding or event. This is not a delivery promise; it helps assess the request against current production conditions. Contact us for help deciding which store to visit.

  • Product type, design link or product code if available
  • Requested size or alteration
  • Intended use and any required date
  • Whether you prefer a remote or in-store consultation

Agree the measuring method before sharing measurements.

Your ready-to-wear size helps start the conversation but does not describe every measurement for personalised production. Designs with the same label may fit differently. Discuss the measurements and ease you need for the selected product.

Do not confuse body circumference with a garment's flat width. Before measuring at home, ask which points and method to use. How measurements translate into production and whether more are needed are agreed during consultation. In-store measuring lets you explain your request face to face.

Choose fabrics and materials for your intended use.

Where and how often you will wear a garment matters when discussing the design and material. Explain your desired look for everyday wear, work or an event, along with colour, texture and care preferences. Available fabrics and materials depend on the product's production options.

Ask what options are available for the selected design rather than deciding solely from a photo's colour. Discuss materials, measurements and appearance separately for shoes and belts too. Do not assume unlimited fabrics, colours or designs for every product.

Ask whether fittings are needed and how they work.

Fitting needs depend on the product and alterations. Do not assume every product requires the same number of fittings, or that remote orders can always be completed without a store visit. Agree whether, where and how fittings will take place before production.

Explain the shoulder, waist, sleeve and length fit you want; this is as useful as measurements. Shoes and belts need their own fit checks. Clarifying the steps helps you plan timing and store visits.

Confirm price and lead time at the quotation stage.

This guide does not quote a fixed price or lead time for made-to-order products. The product, measurements and request details are assessed during consultation. Ready collection prices and delivery details do not automatically apply to made-to-order requests.

Before production, confirm the design, agreed measurements and materials, price, payment terms and current delivery plan. For remote consultations, ask about delivery arrangements. If needed by a specific date, explicitly confirm that the timing is achievable.
