SIZE AND FIT GUIDE
Plus-size suits in Istanbul and choosing the right size
Well-fitting clothes should feel comfortable when sitting and moving as well as standing. When choosing plus sizes, consider shoulders, chest, waist and length together rather than simply increasing the label size.

Where to start when looking for plus-size suits in Istanbul?
For business, weddings or events, first explore suitable designs and current sizes. The METİNALİ suit collection offers sizes 46–60; stock for each size is shown on the product page. The plus-size selection helps you find designs with wider size ranges.
Visit any of our Istanbul stores for measuring and to assess the jacket and trousers together. Before visiting, use the Google Maps link on our contact page for the location and current store details. Remote consultations by email are also available.
If ready-made sizes do not meet your needs, discuss made-to-measure suit tailoring by phone. Let us assess larger measurements alongside the model, fabric, fittings, price and delivery.
The size label is a starting point; the cut changes the fit.
Size describes a measurement group; cut describes how those measurements shape a garment. Two jackets of the same size may differ in shoulder width, waistline or sleeve room. Your size in another garment is therefore not a guaranteed match for a new design.
A relaxed cut and a plus size are different. A looser torso can add comfort, but sizing up may not solve incorrect shoulder or sleeve length. Aim for clothes that follow your body without squeezing and allow comfortable movement.
For suits and jackets, check the shoulders before the fastening.
Try the jacket with the shirt or top you plan to wear. Check that the shoulders follow your natural shoulder line. Overhanging shoulders or tension in the upper arm suggest trying another size or cut.
There should be no obvious pulling lines when buttoned. Reach forwards naturally and sit down. If the chest feels tight, armholes are uncomfortable or the back strains, do not decide by waist measurement alone. Look for easy fastening without excessive fabric.
Check trousers when standing, sitting and walking.
A comfortable waist when standing is not enough. Check waistband pressure and room at the hips and thighs when sitting. A waist that constantly needs a belt, or pulling at the crotch, may indicate a different size or cut is needed.
Consider the hem length with the shoes you will wear. Excess fabric at an overly long hem can affect the look even in the right size. Assess waist, hips and length separately rather than focusing only on the size number.
For shirts and T-shirts, consider chest fit and body length together.
Check shirts for gaps between buttons or tension across the chest. Move your arms to assess back and sleeve comfort. For T-shirts, consider the chest, upper arms and hem together.
Sizing up for a roomier body may also change sleeve and garment length. Consider whether you will tuck it in. Letter sizes such as XXL vary by brand and design; rely on product options and any measurement information provided.
Product codes and intended use help with remote selection.
If unsure, share the product link or code and your usual size. Will you sit for long periods at work, need freedom of movement, or wear it to an event? This helps explain the fit you need.
Body measurements and flat garment measurements are different. State what you measured and how; do not directly convert a single number into a size. Ask by email which measurements the design requires, or visit any of our stores for measuring.

Consider made-to-order options when ready sizes are not enough.
The METİNALİ plus-size page brings together current online stock with larger size options: suits, jackets and wedding suits from 56; trousers from 52; shoes from 46; and letter sizes from 2XL or oversized options. Not every design is stocked in every size.
If ready-made options do not provide the fit you need, call us about made-to-measure suits. The ready-made size range is not an upper limit for tailoring; the model, measurements, price and delivery are agreed during consultation.
